Luba’s practice focuses almost exclusively on Family Law and she also assists the firm’s clients in the areas of Wills and Residential Real Estate.
Prior to joining the firm in 2010, Luba practised extensively in the area of Family Law at a full service law firm in Kitchener.
As part of her Family Law practice, Luba assists clients with a wide range of family law issues, including child custody and access, child support, spousal support and property division and equalization claims. Luba applies a practical, common-sense approach to the resolution of family disputes allowing her clients the benefit of timely, cost-efficient and reasonable settlements.
Not all cases have to go to court. Where possible, Luba assists clients with negotiating settlements outside of court by way of comprehensive separation agreements. She also has extensive experiencing resolving family law cases through the use of alternative dispute resolution processes including mediation and arbitration.
Where matters cannot be settled, Luba’s litigation experience allows her to effectively represent clients at all levels of court. Luba has successfully argued matters at both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice levels.
Luba was born in Bratislava, Slovakia, and as a native Slovak speaker, she is pleased to converse with our clientele in both the Slovak and Czech languages, if desired.
Outside of the office, Luba and her young family enjoy camping, spending time outdoors and she tries to stay active with long distance running and fitting in the occasional game of tennis with her husband.
Luba is a member of the Shades’ Mill Law Association, the Waterloo Law Association as well as the Ontario and Canadian Bar Associations.
